1 (9 X 13-inch) cake
1 large pkg. instant pudding, optional
1 can sweetened, condensed milk
1 can fruit pie filling
1 tub thawed whipped topping
decorative toppings

Directions:
Poke holes in warm, baked cake with handle of wooden spoon. Pour sweetened, condensed milk over top; spread with pudding prepared according to box instructions, reducing milk by 1/4 c. Gently spread pie filling over pudding, then layer on whipped topping. Further decorate or garnish as desired with sprinkles, nuts, chocolate shavings, sliced fruits or berries, or not. Using pudding layer is also optional. Cover, and chill thoroughly. Vary your choices of cake, pudding or no pudding, and pie filling flavors, and you can create dozens of different moist, gooey, delicious cakes that look beautiful. Choose reduced, or sugar-free components and almost everyone can enjoy a guilt free dessert. A hectic harvest day started the experiment to make a "cheater" cake that our spoiled field hands (the family) wouldn't reject.
