2 cups of corn meal (white, plain)
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 heaping tsp. salt
2 heaping tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
Crisco

Directions:

450º
Heat Crisco in pan in 450 oven.
Mix first three ingredients with boiling water. Then add regular water and some buttermilk to right consistency. Add baking powder and 2 eggs. Mix and pour into hot grease in pan in oven. Bake approximately 30 minutes.

This is Mom's (Nannie's) recipe that we always had with seafood. The "right consistency" term is hazy so it may need to be trial and error.
