Directions:
Prepare pastry shells and bake ( this recipe makes 2 pies)

Aunt Juanita puts 1 cup milk, cornstarch, flour, salt, egg yolks and chocolate in a blender and mixes everything together. Once that is mixed she adds it to the double boiler and slowly adds the rest of the milk. Cook for 15 minutes, the mixture should become thick. Aunt Juanita says that the mixture might have lumps and she uses her hand mixer in the double boiler to remove the lumps. one all the lumps are removed and the mixture starts to cool add the vanilla and butter.

Aunt Juanita lets the mixture cool completely before adding to the pie shells.

Add whip cream to the top and add shaved chocolate for extra goodness.

Personal Notes:
That my dear family is Aunt Juanita's famous Chocolate Crème Pie and I was lucky enough to sit and watch my beautiful Aunt make the famous pie that we all love. Let me tell you the trick( which she said I could share) it's the hand mixer. She mixes the filing until it is completely smooth and creamy. She uses the mixer for about 15 minutes just making sure there are no lumps. After 15 minutes she then adds the butter and vanilla and she keeps the mixer moving as these last 2 ingredients are added.
** However, I am absolutely sure that the reason this pie is so good as she has made the with love.****
