3/4 C poppyseed
1 1/4 C milk
3/4 C butter
2 1/4 C sugar
3 C flour
3 tsp baking powder
6 egg whites

FILLING: 2 1/4 C milk
1 C sugar, 6 egg yolks, 6 T cornstarch 1 tsp vanilla, 2 T butter

Mix milk and poppyseed and let soak for 3-4 hours. Beat egg whites until stiff. Cream butter and sugar and add poppyseed mixture and mix well. Add flour and baking powder to poppyseed mixture. Fold in egg whites. Bake at 350º for 25 minutes in 9x13 pan or 2 round 9 in layers.

Filling: Mix together milk, sugar, egg yolk and corn starch and cook over medium heat until thick and stirring constantly. Then take off stove and add vanilla and butter. Put between layers or on top of cake. Frost with your favorite frosting.
