4-6 slices bacon
2 c. shredded lettuce
4 green onions,sliced
2 T. flour
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. pepper
1 c. chicken broth
2 10oz. packages or 2 1/2 c. frozen peas
1 5oz. can water chestnuts, drained and sliced

Directions:
Directions:
Cut bacon into 1/2 inch pieces and fry until crisp.
Add onions and lettuce and cook 1 minute.
Stir in flour, pepper and salt.
Add broth, and cook and stir constantly until thick.
Add peas and chestnuts.
Simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
