1/2 C butter
1 1/2 C graham cracker crumbs
1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips (approx 1 C)
1 3 1/2 oz can flaked coconut (approx 1 1/3 C)
1 C chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. In a 13x9-inch pan, melt butter in oven. Sprinkle crumbs over butter; mix together and press into pan. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs. Top evenly with remaining ingredients, ending in the chocolate chips. Carefully press down firmly. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool thoroughly before cutting. Store at room temperature.

It wouldn't be Christmas at our house without these bars. I cut this recipe out of magazine over thirty years ago and been using it ever since. It can easily be changed, using different flavored chips, a variety of nuts or adding dried fruit but the original always seems to be the best.
