Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
3 tbsp milk
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 square chocolate

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar together. Add egg yolk and beat well. Add milk, vanilla and dry ingredients.

Melt the chocolate square.

Divide the dough in half. Add the chocolate to 1/2 of the dough. Mix. If dough is not stiff enough to roll, place in refrigerator for about 1/2 hour.

Roll out separately to about 1/2 inch thick (roll on wax paper). You can half each flavor dough so you roll out four sheets. Doing it this way will make smaller cookies.

Place the chocolate mixture on top of the vanilla and roll up like a jelly roll. Place in refrigerator until firm- about 1 hour.

The rest of the original recipe from my Grandma Miller is - slice thin, bake in a hot oven for a few minutes. Makes about 35 cookies.

Cut the cookies into nice thin slices. If you have trouble, refrigerate your knife! Place on cookie sheets about 1/2 inch apart. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 °F for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
