2 cups sugar
1 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup butter or margarine
2 cups. salted peanuts
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Grease largest baking sheet with sides, and set aside.
Put sugar, syrup and water into large heavy saucepan. Bring to boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Boil, stirring often, to soft ball stage, 235*F (112* C)
Add peanuts and butter, stirring to mix. Continue boiling to 300*F (150*C) using candy thermometer to check temp. Stir frequently to prevent scorching.
Very quickly stir in vanilla and baking soda. Mixture will foam. Pour while still foaming onto greased baking sheet. Cool. To serve, break into small pieces.
