1 box of lemon cake mix
1 - 3 oz. box of lime jello
1/3 cup of vegetable oil
3 eggs
1/2 cup of orange juice
3/4 cup of water

GLAZE
4 T package powdered sugar
1/2 cup of key lime juice

ICING
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 teaspoons Key lime zest
1 lb. powdered sugar
1/4 cup key lime juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 to 2 Tbsp. milk (optional)

CAKE
1. Prepare three round 9" pans.
2. Mix the cake mix, lime jello, oil, eggs, orange juice and water together for 2 to 3 minutes at medium speed.
3. Divide batter among the prepared cake pans.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

GLAZE
1. While cakes are baking, pour 1/2 cup of lime juice into a bowl.
2. Mix in 4 tbsp. of confectioners sugar.
3. When the cakes come out of the oven, and while they're still warm, use a spoon to drizzle the glaze mixture onto the entire surface of each of them.
4. Allow cakes to cool completely before icing.

ICING
1. Combine butter, lime zest, vanilla extract, and salt in mixing bowl.
2. Beat at medium speed until creamy.
3. Gradually add the powdered sugar alternately with Key lime juice, 1 Tbsp. at a time, and 1 Tbsp. milk, beating at low speed until blended well after each addition.
4. Beat in up to 1 Tbsp. additional milk for desired consistency.
5. Place the cake in the refrigerator to keep the icing firm.
