1/2 cup uncooked rice
1 1/4 cups hot milk
1 pound ground beef (or pork, etc.)*
1 10 1/2 oz. can boullion (or tomato sauce)
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 large head of cabbage
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. margarine


*other ground meats such as lamb, turkey, or chicken can also be substituted

Cook rice in milk in double boiler about 10 minutes. Add meat, 1 cup boullion, salt & pepper. Continue cooking until soft, for 10 to 15 minutes. Soften cabbage for rolling leaves. (Place in boiling water, and core.) Roll up meat mixture (1tbsp. ) starting at core end, overlap sides. Place in greased Dutch Oven, sprinkle with margarine and brown sugar, add remaining sauce. Cover and cook about 1 1/2 hours , @ 350 ºF. Pack rolls tightly.
