1 1/2cup sugar (brown is good)
1 cup lard or butter
2 eggs well beaten
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg and allspice
3 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups cooked raisins in 1 1/2 cups of water (when cooled add 1 1/2 tsp of baking soda)

Directions:

Mix and spread batter thinly in well greased and floured pan. Bake in moderate oven. Ice while still warm with powdered sugar icing. Cut in squares in pan.
