1 c. cider
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2 tbsp. butter
2 ham steaks, 1 inch thick
Whole cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Cook the cider, allspice, pepper and brown sugar to a boil.
Reduce heat and cook gently for about 20 minutes.
Add butter and stir until dissolved.
Start over at 325º or slow.
Put ham slices in a shallow baking pan.
Stud the ham fat with cloves and pour the cider sauce over the meat.
Bake about one hour and 15 minutes, basting frequently with the sauce.
