4 lb round steak - trim fat - 1/8 in slices
flour
1 clove garlic
1 Tbsp. shortening
salt/pepper to taste
Lots of Hungarian Paprika
1/4 lb. margarine
3 large onions, cut into thin rings
2 med jars mushroom slices
1 large can tomato paste
3/4 tomato juice
4 cups sour cream
1 Tbsp.. Worchestershire sauce

Directions:

Trim fat from meat and cut into 1/8th inch slices
Dredge in flour, brown with garlic clove and 1 tbsp. shortening.
When meat is brown, add salt, pepper and paprika

In an iron skillet, melt and slightly brown 1/4 margarine; add 3 onion rings.
When onions are partially cooked, add:
Mushrooms (save juice) - can leave out as preference
Can tomato paste diluted with tomato juice (at least 3/4 cup or more)
1tbsp Worchestershire sauce
Thicken with mushroom juice and flour

Add sauce to meat, cook slowly about an hour (until meat is tender)
Add 4 cups sour cream, stir over low heat until thoroughly blended.
Serve with steamed rice.
