12 slices bread
soft butter or margarine
1 can whole kernel corn, drained
1 can whole green chilies
2 cups shredded Monterey jack cheese
4 eggs, lightly beaten
3 cup milk
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Trim crusts from bread. Spread bread with butter, then cut slices in halves. Arrange half the bread slices in a greased shallow 3-quart baking dish. Cover with half the cheese. Repeat layers. Combine eggs, milk, and salt and pour over ingredients in casserole. Cover and refrigerate 4 hours or longer. Bake at 350º, 45-50 minutes, or until puffy and brown, and an inserted knife blade comes out clean.
