1 1/2 cup cake flour (sifted before measuring)
1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup Crisco
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 squares melted bitter chocolate
1/2 cup milk
3/4 baking powder
2 eggs (unbeaten)
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanila

Directions:
Directions:
Stir Vigorously by hand or with mixer (medium speed) 2 minutes (flour, sugar, Crisco, salt, soda, chocolate and milk). Now stir in (yes, all by itself): 3/4 tsp baking powder. Now add: 2 eggs (unbeaten), milk and vanilla. Blend by hand or mixer (med. speed) for 2 mins. The batter will be smooth and thin. Pour into two 9inch layer pans which have been rubbed with Crisco and lined with heavy waxed paper. Bake in moderate oven 350 º 25-30mins.
