1 C sugar
3 C flour
1 tsp. baking powder
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla

Beat oil, sugar together.
Add eggs one at a time alternating with 1 cup of flour at a time.
Add baking powder and vanilla.

Bake on top rack in 440 degree oven 15 min

Not sure if she meant 1 egg or 3.
Recipe actually states, "add flour and egg together continue in this manner until you have 3 cups flour and egg." I assume she means 3 eggs, but I think I would start with 1 egg and if batter is dry, add the other eggs.
