2 tbsp oil
1/4 c each finely chopped onion and green pepper
1 lb ground beef
1/2 can tomatoes
1/2 c karo syrup
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp pepper
1 bay leaf
2 tbsp corn starch
1/4 c water
3 c cooked macaroni or rice
Chedder cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oil in skillet and add onions and peppers, cook till tender. Add beef and brown, drain. Add tomato, syrup, salt, chili pepper, pepper and bay leaf and bring to a bowl, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Blend cornstarch and water and add to mixture and bring to boil, stirring Add 3 c cooked macaroni or rice. Pour into 2 qt casserole. Sprinkle with 1 c shredded cheddar cheese. Bake until hot.
