1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
4 cups unpeeled shredded apples
1 cup nuts (optional)
Sauce:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup cream
1 T flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugars with butter; add eggs and beat. Mix in dry ingredients, then apples and nuts. Bake 45 min. at 350º in greased 9x13 pan. To make caramel sauce, mix ingredients in saucepan and boil 1-2 minutes. Serve over cake.
