1 lb. hamburger
1/2-1 large onion, chopped
1 tsp. jarred chopped garlic
3 - 15 1/2 oz. cans Mexican-style chili beans, undrained
1 - 15 1/4 oz. can whole kernel corn, undrained
1 - 15 oz. can tomato sauce
1 - 14 1/2 oz. can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 - 4 1/2 oz can chopped green chilies
1 envelope taco seasoning mix
1 envelope Ranch style dressing mix
1 c. water
Shredded cheddar cheese
corn chips
sour cream

Directions:

Cook hamburger in a large pot with onion and garlic until meat is browned and vegetables are tender. Drain and add rest of ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 15-30 min. Serve with cheese, chips and sour cream, if desired.

This is Mom's (Ruth's) recipe. You cannot mess this up! You can put it in a crockpot on low for 4-6 hrs,and it freezes well. You can interchange ingredients or substitute. I sometimes add pinto or black beans for some of the chili beans, crushed tomatoes instead of diced. Kent really likes this soup, altho you can't see his soup for the cheese and chips!!
