Dough:
2 c flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 c softened butter
8 oz cream cheese
confectioner's sugar

Filling:
1 c chopped pecans
1/2 c dark brown sugar
honey

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and salt together in a bowl. Put butter in a large bowl. Cream together cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy. Blend in flour and salt. wrap dough and chill 2-3 hours until firm.

After it is chilled, roll out dough to 1/8 inch thickness, using confectioner's sugar instead of flour. With a sharp knife, cut into trapezoid shapes with the widest and about two inches.

To make filling: Put pecans and sugar in bowl. Pour in honey and stir until the mixture clumps together. Spoon the mixture onto the dough and fold the narrowest end of the trapezoid over to close the cookie. Pinch the dough to hold it together.

Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 375º for 15 minutes. Cool on cooling rack. Store air-tight and refrigerate.

Variations: alternate fillings include jelly or jam.

Personal Notes:
My mother adapted this recipe from the 1968 Woman's Day Encyclopedia of Cooking. The original recipe called for jam filling, but my mother was looking for a way to use the plentiful pecans from our pecan trees.
