1 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups unsifted flour, stir to aerate before measuring
4 egg yolks
1/4 cup strawberry jam (or any flavor you prefer)

Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Thoroughly beat in egg yolks and vanilla. Gradually work I flour until blended. Chill batter. Shape dough into 1" balls. Place balls about 1 1/2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Using a lightly floured thimble, press a small hole about 1/4" deep in the top of each cookie. Fill each hole with jam. Bake in a pre-heated 325 degree oven until browned on the bottom but not on top, about 12 minutes.
Remove to a wire rack to cool.
Makes 4 dozen
