2 C. brown sugar
2 C. buttermilk
6 C. flour
1 1/2 C. molasses
11/2 C. melted margarine or butter
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp ginger
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Makes 2 recipes. Combine eggs, sugar, margarine, and molasses. Sift flour with baking soda, salt and spices. Add alternately with buttermilk to egg mixture. Beat until well blended. Pour into well oiled cast iron skillet or loaf pans. Bake for 30- 40 minutes.

Melt margarine in skillet and pour into recipe ingredients. Recipe is from "The Household Searchlight Recipe Book, " circa 1939.
