1 ½ cup sugar, less 2 Tablespoons
2 cups all-purpose flour, plus 2 Tablespoons
½ teaspoon salt
1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
3 eggs
1 #303 can of fruit cocktail with juice
1 cup nuts
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
½ cup “Pet” milk
1 stick butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º

Mix together and beat sugar, flour, salt, baking soda, eggs and fruit cocktail with juice.
Pour into a 9 x 13 greased pan.

Mix nuts and brown sugar together and sprinkle over top of the cake.

Meanwhile, mix white sugar, pet milk and butter in a saucepan. Bring to a boil.

Pour over hot cake.

Keeps forever. Good with ice cream and can be served warm or cold.
