2 ½ cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon water
2 sticks butter, softened
2/3 cups brown sugar, packed
2/3 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups (12 ounce package) semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 cup nuts, chopped, optional

Preheat oven to 375º.

Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl and mix well.

Beat butter, sugars, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl with electric mixer.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Gradually beat in flour mixture and the 2 teaspoon of water.

Stir in chocolate morsels and nuts, if desired.

Drop by rounded teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for approximately 8-10 minutes or until golden brown

Let stand 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.1
