2 tbsp. oil
5 onions
1/2 lb. mushrooms
2 1/2 lb. beef, cubed
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. marjoram leaves
1/4 tsp. thyme leaves
1/8 tsp pepper
1 1/2 tbsp flour
3/4 cup beef broth (water & beef bouillon cube)
1 1/2 cups burgundy wine

Directions:
Directions:
1. Saute onions and mushrooms in oil until tender. Remove with slotted spoon but save the liquid.
2. In a large pan brown the beef with a little oil. Add the liquid from the onions and mushrooms, wine and beef broth, and the flour to thicken. Boil 1 to 2 minutes. Add the seasonings and herbs. Cover & simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours or place in the oven at 350 º until meat is tender. Liquid should cover meat. If necessary, add more broth.
3. When beef is cooked, add onions and mushrooms. Cook 15 minutes.
4. Can be served with rice or over egg noodles.
