Directions:
1. Cook chicken, shrimp, or protein of choice and set off to the side. (Keep warm or re-heat when needed)

2. Melt 1/2 cup butter in medium saucepan.

3. Add 2-1/2 tbsp cream cheese to melted butter in sauce pan. Mix as cream cheese softens

4. Add 1 pint heavy cream to butter and cream cheese mixture in sauce pan.

5. Stir in 1 tsp. each of garlic powder, garlic salt, and black pepper to sauce pan.

6. Let mixture simmer on low heat for 20 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning.

7. As sauce is simmering, prepare fettuccine pasta as directed. Set to side when complete.

8. As sauce is simmering and fettuccine pasta is cooking, grate parmesan cheese wedge/block until 1 cup grated parmesan is produced. Grate additional 3/4 cup for topping, if desired. Set to the side.

9. After 20 minutes, remove the heat from the sauce and stir in 1 cup of grated parmesan cheese.

10. After parmesan cheese melts into sauce, salt to taste.

11. Spoon alfredo sauce over hot fettuccine pasta and previously prepared protein. See my comments if leftovers are anticipated.

Personal Notes:
***Store leftover sauce separate from pasta to avoid sauce separation when reheating. To reheat leftovers, heat sauce over stove and let simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring until sauce is combined. Serve immediately.

**Only use high quality, fresh parmesan cheese. Pre-grated parmesan cheese (Kraft, bagged cheese, etc.) will not work and will taste bad in this recipe.

*Prepare a southwestern style chicken breast to give this alfredo pasta a southern flare

*Substitute or add grilled/seasoned veggies with the protein for an Ultimate Veggie Fettuccine Alfredo.

*Use the alfredo sauce in place of tomato sauce for a delicious Ultimate Alfredo Pizza.
