1/2 C Water (warm)
2 Pkg Yeast
2 Tsp plus 1 1/2 C Sugar
4 Sticks plus 3 Tbs Butter
4 C Flour
4 Beaten Egg Yolks (save whites)
4 C Walnuts (finely chopped)
1 Tsp Vanilla

Combine warm water yeast and 2 Tsp sugar and let rise while making dough.
Take 4 sticks butter and flour mix as for pie crust. Add the beaten egg yolks and mix well. Add yeast mixture, blend well, dough will be sticky. Make balls the size of small walnuts. Refrigerate covered overnight. Roll out balls on powdered sugar. Put in front and roll up, shape like a crescent. Bake on ungreased sheet at 350 for 12-15 minutes.
Combine the finely chopped nuts and sugar mix well, then fold in the egg whites that have been beaten stiff. Add 3 Tbs melted butter and vanilla.
