1 pkg. of yeast
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups warm water
8 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400ºF.

Dissolve yeast and sugar in the warm water. Wait 10 minutes.
Cream shortening and sugar. Mix in egg, salt and water.
Add flour and knead to an elastic dough.
Rise in a warm place until double in bulk.
Shape into rolls. Rise again until double in bulk, about 1 hour.
Bake for 20 minutes.
