Base:
1 1/4 cup crushed graham wafers
1/4 cup soft butter/margarine
1/4 cup sugar

Filling:
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. cornstarch
2 cups milk
2 egg yolks (slightly beaten)
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Meringue:
pinch of salt
2 egg whites
1/4 cup sugar

Directions:
Base: Blend then set aside 1/3 cup crumbs. Press remaining crumbs in pie plate. Bake for 8 minutes at 350ºF.

Filling: Blend sugar, salt and cornstarch in saucepan. Gradually stir in milk until smooth. Cook over medium heat, stir constantly until boiling. Boil for 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in egg yolk into mixture. Add slowly. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Blend in butter and vanilla. Cool. Add to base.

Meringue: Add salt and egg whites. Mix until eggs are frothy. Add sugar slowly. Add to pie.

Top with remaining crumbs.

Bake at 425ºF for 5 minutes.
