Ingredients:  
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. cake flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter, sugar and vanilla thoroughly.

Stir flour and salt together and blend into butter mixture.

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet.

Bake at 400º for 8 minutes or until set but do not brown.

While warm, dip into confectioners sugar and cool.
Variations:
1 tsp. peppermint and green food coloring (omit vanilla)or
Add 3/4 c. finely chopped nuts to dough or
1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. nutmeg or
2 tsp. orange rind, few drops orange food coloring (omit vanilla)
