Directions: |
Directions:Cover giblets from turkey with water and bring to a boil. Simmer at least 1 hour, or longer. In separate pot, whisk about 1/4 - 1/3 c. flour with some turkey drippings until you have a paste.
Remove giblets from broth and set aside. Add giblet broth to flour paste and bring to a boil, whisking constantly until gravy thickens. Add 2-3 Tbsp. butter. You can also add a Knorr's chicken bouillon cube and more water if needed. Salt and pepper to taste. |

Notes: Grandma used Half and Half instead of water to make a creamier gravy. I substituted water to make it less rich. A true Southerner, she also deboned and shredded or diced the giblets and put them back into the gravy. I do not use the giblet meat. It makes a good dog or kitty treat, though!
