Ingredients:
Ingredients:
5 ½ c flour
2 tsp salt
1 lb lard (cut into large chunks)
2 tbsp sugar
1 large egg
1 tbsp white vinegar
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in lard with a pastry cutter. In a glass measuring cup and using a fork, beat egg with vinegar. Add enough cold water to make 1 c; mix well. Add liquid to dry mixture and mix. Work dough for quite a while until smooth. On a flour covered counter, roll dough into a log then divide into 5-6 equal pieces. (Extra dough can be wrapped in saran wrap and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months; thaw in refrigerator). Roll out half of one ball for the top of the pie and half for the bottom. Roll out bottom (round) and place in the pan. Roll the top larger than the bottom and mark it with a butter knife.

Sprinkle ⅓ c of sugar into the bottom shell. Mix ⅔ c sugar and 3 tbsp flour in a cup. Pour berries/fruit into the shell to the rim of the pan then cover with the flour/sugar mixture. Wet edge of crust then put top crust on and pinch down the edges. Fold a bit of the top under the bottom crust to make a lip then pinch the edges. Sprinkle top with sugar. Bake for 10 minutes at 450°F then at 350°F until bubbles form. Check after 20 minutes.
