1/2 C. butter (softened)
1 C. sugar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 large egg.
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 C. flour
4 T. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Beat butter on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add the 1 C. sugar, soda, and cream of tartar. Beat until combined, scraping sides sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Beat in as much flour as you can with the mixer and stir in the remaining flour. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour. Combine the 4 T. sugar and 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon. Shape the dough into 1 inch balls and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture to coat. Place dough balls 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 8 minutes. Transfer to wire rack to cool.
