Ingredients:
Ingredients:
12 cups crumbled corn bread (10" Iron Skillet"
3 cups crumbled dried or toasted white bread
1 large onion, shopped
1 cup celery, chopped
6 eggs, boiled and chopped
1 can cream of chicken soup
4 1/2 cups chicken broth
1 tablespoon sage
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients and blend well. Bake in a well greased large baking dish. Bake at 350º for 1 hour covered, then an additional 30 minutes, uncovered.
Note that the Perry family prefers this without eggs, and with chicken or hen cooked and added to the dressing prior to cooking - I might add just a little more sage as well. Mine is pretty "soupy" when it goes into the oven. The cream of chicken is essential.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is from Martha Gayle, and was her mother's recipe. It is basically the same recipe that all of us had for Thanksgiving, and sometimes Christmas. I put it in here in case anyone finds themselves in the situation where "they are the adult" and the dressing falls upon them to do. Trust me, if it ever happens to you, you will be glad to have some basic measurements, and cooking instructions.
