1 c butter, softened
1 c shortening
2 c packed light brown sugar
1 c sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
4 1/2 c flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
2 c chocolate chips
1 c chopped pecans (optional)
Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, cream the butter, shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla, Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (dough will be sticky).

Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks.
