1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cup melted Crisco
3 eggs, well beaten
1/2 tsp salt
5 cups flour
2 tsp soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1-2 cups chopped nuts

Directions:

Cream Crisco with sugar, add eggs. Mix well. Add nuts, then dry ingredients sifted together. Divide into six equal parts and shape into 12 inches long and 1 inch wide. Wrap in wax paper and chill in refrigerator, preferably overnight or a few hours in freezer. Slice thin, bake in 350 degree oven for 8-10 minutes.
Makes 75 cookies.
