1 lb. ground turkey
1c. chopped onion
1 tsp. minced fresh garlic
28 oz. can diced tomatoes with juice
6 oz. tomato paste
4 c. low sodium chicken broth
3 c. chopped green pepper
2/3 c. uncooked brown or white rice
2 tbs. packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. basil
Ground black pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
In a large skillet, cook turkey, onion and garlic over medium heat until browned.

Drain any juices and transfer into slow cooker.

Add remaining ingredients and stir gently into mix.

Cook on low for 8-9 hours.

Water may be added to thin if necessary.
