1 stick butter
1 jar dried beef
1/2 gal. milk
3 fork full's flour
1/4 c. water
2 tbsp. salt
2 tbsp. black pepper
8 pieces toast

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add dried beef and saute until starting to brown. Add milk. Stir constantly until milk begins to boil. In a water glass, mix flour with water until dissolved. Add to dried beef mixture and stir until thickened. Serve over toast.

This recipe was a favorite of the Mellnik kids. It dates from his brief stint in the Army as a cook. Dad would make it for us every time Mom went out of town.
