2 c sugar
1/8 tsp salt
2 c light corn syrup
1/2 c butter
1 tall can evaporated milk or 1 1/2 c table cream
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, salt, and corn syrup in saucepan; Mix thoroughly. Cook rapidly, stirring constantly, until a small amount, when dropped in cold water, forms a very firm ball. Add butter and milk or cream alternately in small amounts, beginning and ending with butter. Stir constantly. Do not let mixture stop boiling at any time. Cook slowly until a small amount, when dropped in cold water, forms a firm ball. Stir constantly during cooking to prevent sticking. Add flavoring, and pour into buttered pan. Cool thoroughly; cut with a heavy, sharp knife with a saw-like motion.
