Cake:
1 cup raisins
1 1/2 cup water
1 egg
1/2 cup margarine
1 tsp soda
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup flour

Brown Sugar Icing:
3/4 cup brown sugar
5 tbsp margarine
1/2 cup milk
1 cup icing sugar (approx)

Directions:
Directions:
Boil raisins in water until 1/2 cup of water left. Cream margarine, brown sugar and egg. Add flour, soda and vanilla and blend well. Stir in raisins (including 1/2 cup cooking water). Pour into greased 9"x13" cake pan and bake for about 1 hour @ 350º.
Icing: Boil together milk, margarine and brown sugar for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Blend in icing sugar until spreading consistency.

An old-fashioned recipe...I hunted for it for many years. I finally found it in a cookbook published one year @ Christmas time by the Saskatoon Star Phoenix.
