1 lime, cut into 8 wedges
2 tablespoons simple syrup
Crushed ice, as needed
1/2 cup cachaça

Directions:
Directions:
Divide the lime wedges and simple syrup between 2 low cocktail glasses. Using a muddler or the end of a spoon, stir vigorously, or muddle, to release all of the juice from the limes. Fill each glass with some crushed ice and pour in the cachaça, dividing it evenly. Stir thoroughly and serve immediately.

This national drink of Brazil is made with a rum known as cachaça, which is distilled from fresh sugarcane juice. If you can’t find cachaça, use light rum instead.
