3 C. Sugar
1 C. Vegetable Shortening
4 C. Cake Flour
4 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Salt
2 C. Water
1 C. Black Walnuts, chopped
2 tsp. Vanilla
6 Egg Whites


Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Cream together sugar and shortening. Sift flour and other dry ingredients together. Add dry ingredients to shortening and sugar alternating with the water. Reserve a teaspoon of flour and add to the chopped nuts. Add to cake badder with vanilla. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into badder last. Pour into 3 9" round pans for 35 minutes.
