3/4 cup margarine
3/4 cup butter-flavoured Crisco
2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup molasses
4 cups flour
2 eggs
2 tsp. ground ginger
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ground cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Cream margarine, shortening and sugar. Add eggs and molasses. Add dry ingredients. Mix well.
Roll (or scoop) into 1 inch balls. Carefully roll in sugar until coated. Place on greased cookie sheet. DO NOT FLATTEN.
Bake at 375º for about 8 - 9 minutes. Do not over-bake.

The cookies will still be soft in the centre when done when baked. Wait a minute or so before removing them from the pan to cool. If you prefer a crisp cookie rather than a soft cookie, bake them for a minute longer.
