Whole chicken
Salt and pepper to taste
Celery
Carrots
Onion

Directions:
Directions:
Place the whole chicken in enough water to cover it in a large saucepan. Add salt, pepper, chopped stalk of celery, chopped onion and a chopped carrot.
Simmer, covered, over medium to low heat until chicken is very tender. Remove chicken and cool on plate. Cool chicken enough to handle. Remove the meat from the bones and slice for sandwiches or chop for recipes needing chopped cooked chicken.
