2 lb ground beef
1 lb sausage
1 c bread crumbs
1 lg onion, chopped
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c tomato sauce
4 T green pepper, chopped
2 t salt
1/2 t pepper
2 pinches oregano
1 pinch garlic powder

SEASONED DREDGE:
3 T flour
1 t salt
1/4 t pepper

Directions:
Grease loaf pan with bacon drippings (or shortening if drippings are not available). Mix all ingredients together and shape into a loaf. Dredge loaf with flour mixture. Bake at 450º for 15 minutes. Reduce to 350º and bake for 1 hour.

This meatloaf recipe is from Hannah Jackson. Her husband Mac Jackson was a cousin to my mother Dorothy Cook. It makes a great meatloaf.
