3/4 cup (plus a little more) crisco
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 Tbsp cold water
1 package chocolate chips

Directions:

Cream together the first four ingredients
Mix well with remaining ingredients
Spread into a greased cookie sheet (about 11x15)
Bake at 350 about 30 minutes, but
Check before that to make sure it's not over baked
Cool and cut into squares

I think one thing this family can agree on – Aunt Maxine is a great cook! So it's not surprising that many of my favorite recipes growing up, which I've acquired from my Mom's collection, originated with Aunt Maxine.
