Personal Notes:
A baking trick I learned growing up is that you can't go wrong with Duncan Hines. I'm not ashamed to admit that I hoarded some cake mixes after Duncan Hines threatened to make all of their mixes dairy. When I was growing up, a dessert staple of my Mom's was brownies from a Duncan Hines mix. Although others used this same mix, my Mom got the best results by far. In fact, assuming her delicious brownies must have been baked from scratch, many people requested my Mom's recipe. While she was reluctant to give away her secret, it can now be revealed. Ignore the times on the box instructions, and be sure to slightly underbake the brownies. Most important, once the brownies are baked and cooled, top them with this scrumptious icing.
