1 pint (2 cups) milk
1 lb. hamburger
1/2 stick butter
1 small onion - chopped
salt and pepper
2 whole eggs
10-12 Ritz or saltine crackers

Salad:
1 head lettuce chopped, washed & crisp
2 large tomatoes
1 small onion - grated
salt and pepper
1 carton cottage cheese (16 oz)
mayonnaise to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Combine in bowl - will be runny so add about 10 or 12 crackers. Have casserole dish buttered. Fill with mixture. Place in oven at 350º and stir every 15 minutes (at least twice). Cook for one hour. Last 1/2 hour, do not stir. Let brown and thicken.

Salad: Toss all together.

Serve the meatloaf and salad along with hot rolls for one of Grandma Betty Gleghorn's (fondly named Grandma Legs) traditional meals that she served to our family and her own as they grew up.
