Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 package of Bakers German Sweet Chocolate
1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 lb butter (not margarine)
2 cups sugar
4 egg yolks, unbeaten
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 1/2 cups sifted cake flour (or 2 1/4 cups of regular cake flour)
1 cup buttermilk
4 eggs whites, stiffly beaten

Frosting:
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup sugar
3 egg yolks
1 cube butter
1 1/2 cups coconut
1 1/2 cups pecans (can use other nuts)

Directions:
Directions:
Melt chocolate in boiling water, cool. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add yolks, one at a time and beat well after addition. Add melted chocolate and vanilla. Mix well. Sift flour together with salt and soda. Add alternately with buttermilk to mixture, beating till smooth. Fold in beaten egg whites.
Pour into 3 9inch pan lined on bottom with lightly greased paper. Bake in moderate oven at 350º, 30-40 minutes. Cool. Frost tops and place in layers.
Frosting: It is recommended that this frosting be cooked in a double boiler, however I just use a heavy saucepan. Mix milk, sugar, and yolks in a saucepan. Add melted butter. Be careful when adding butter as you don't want the yolks to "cook". Cook for 10-12 minutes until mixture is thickened. Stir constantly as this burns very easily. Add coconut and pecans. Beat well. If you want to frost the sides of the cake, make 1 1/2 of this recipe.
