4 medium potatoes
1 tbsp. butter or margarine
1/2 c. lowfat milk

Peel and cut potatoes into 3 inch cubes (or close). Place into a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook on medium heat under tender when touched with a fork. Remove potatoes and drain. Place into a large mixing bowl, add butter and milk. Use an egg beater to whip potatoes into a smooth and fluffy mixture. If you want them creamier, add a little more milk slowly and mix again.

Grandma always used an egg beater to make her mashed potatoes absolutely smooth. To make Garlic Mashed Potatoes, simply add 1 tbsp fresh minced garlic while mixing.
